I've have enabled GZip compression on outbound HTTP traffic. This should affect all plain text output, hopefully you will see a noticible increase in page download speed.
There was a brief 15 minute outage yesterday: Here's Dedipower's explanation.
Apologies, we had a failed UPS which we had to swap out asap so that we could get server`s back online (inc. your server). The cause of this was an unknown explosion within the Reading vicinity which caused a massive electrical surge and knocked out power to a lot of areas (in the city). We believe this surge to have been the cause of a couple of UPS failures within our datacentre.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks,

DediPower have a new datacentre and will be moving their servers to it sometime shortly after the 5th May. This will mean an outage one evening.
See the full entry for details of the new data centre.
Today, DediPower has launched its new Reading, Berkshire based Data
Centre. The new Data Centre represents a significant investment in
improving and maintaining the quality of service DediPower can offer,
and some of the key benefits are:
- Over 3800sqft of premium data centre space (5-6 times larger than our
current site);
- A further 7200sqft of high quality office space;
- A dedicated 1.2MW electrical substation, multiple N+1 diesel generator
back-up (over 600KVA);
- Significant investment in network infrastructure, providing a 32Gbps
network backbone allowing full 100Meg access for every single server
to
all parts of the DediPower network;
- The site has an overall capacity of over 4000 servers;
- Advanced Denial of Service protection and network security.
(full specifications of the new data centre will be published shortly on
our web site)
DediPower's new network has been designed with dramatically increased
capacity, performance, security, and redundancy, allowing DediPower to
offer enterprise level network performance. This will allow us to
provide the level of performance that our customers demand.
DediPower will be contacting its customers shortly after the 5th of May
to arrange the migration of their server to the new Data Centre. To
ensure this move is as seamless as possible all server migrations will
be moved at night, and a 7 day window can be made available if our date
is not convenient. Rest assured that all customers will be consulted
before their server is relocated.
DediPower would like to thank all of its valued customers for their
continued support. If you have any questions regarding the above please
email request@dedipower.com.
Kind Regards,
Craig Martin

Asterisk is now offline as it has been replaced by a cheapo broadband router.
I'm planning to move it into the staff colo at work at some point over the next few weeks once I've had a chance to sort out the paperwork.
